2005 Shiraz
A vibrant purple in
colour, this wine displays a subtle combination of berry
characters with a medium bodied structure. The wine
has soft tannins to allow for early enjoyment, however
it should continue to develop more complex flavours
over the next three years with bottle age. |
2006 Chardonnay
Hand picked fruit from our mudgee vineyard. The season was dry and warm with strong flavours
well suited to Chardonnay. The wine was partially fermented in brand new French oak hogsheads then stored
6 months in a combination of new and two year old French oak barrels. The nose is dominated by the nutmeg
spice of the oak but the flavour is soft in acidity and subtle.

2009 Semillon
The first approach to the wine delivers a fresh clean varietal bouquet
with estery citrus blossom notes. The palate is light yet with good persistence.
It is characterised by lemon sherbet flavours and typical crisp grassy overtones.
The wine can be enjoyed young but will reward with some aging as it develops honey flavours and bottle age.

2009 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
One of the most successful marriages of different varieties
Sauvignon blanc and Semillon complement each other is several ways.
The fragrant fruity Sauvignon blanc is counterpointed by the subtlety of
Semillon to present a wine with the aroma of passionfruit and gooseberries
on a crisp lemon flavoured palate. Refreshing to drink on its own the wine
will evolve and deliver additional flavours when enjoyed with white fleshed
meat or fish or when accompanying pasta.

2009 Chardonnay
A deft hand has been used in the amount of oak character imparted to this wine.
Only a brief period in new and second use French Oak hogshead has allowed some development of the wine
without imposing too much oak or firmness to the wine allowing the fruit to dominate. The bouquet shows
some complexity from the toasty peach and cashew aromas and fermentation esters. The palate is quite edgy
with tropical fruits and melon flavours dominating. The wine has enough palate weight and structure to accompany a wide range of food dishes.

2009 Shiraz
As the vines age the wine just gets better.
Pretty much an ideal year with a good spring and a dry summer.
We opted for another strong wine because that is what our vineyard delivers.
Very dark almost ink colour.
The wine was made in a traditional fashion in open fermenters where extraction of colour and
flavour is done manually.
To us this is the essence of our style; strong obvious wine but soft and approachable as a young wine.
We initially stored the wine in 4 year old oak for a year than an extra 6 months in brand new French oak hogsheads.
We love this wine and hope you do too. Don’t be afraid to hide the wine for another 10 years as long as it is stored cool (less than 20C.)

2006 Shiraz
A fabulous spring and dry growing season was unbeknownst to us the precusor to the 07 drought. Still the
quality of these wines does make up for it. Hand picked and fermented in traditional open fermenters for complexity
and tannin management the wine was finished in older American oak. Black plum, ink and vanillon aromatics with some underlining
earthy complexity. The palate is rich and well textured with a substantial tannin framework. Opens beautifully with time in the glass. Will cellar equally well for
3 to 8 years

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon
A fabulous spring and
dry growing season was unbeknownst to us the precursor
to the 07 drought. Still the quality of these wines
does make up for it. Hand picked and fermented in traditional
open fermenters this is an old fashioned no holds barred
sort of wine. Iodine and blackcurrant on the nose, the
palate is solid and chunky for a cabernet. Initially closed
- this wine opens beautifully to reveal a surprisingly
elegant structure and some deliciously intertwined oak.
Will cellar well for 3 - 8 years.
